In Patna, two headmasters and a middleman were arrested on Saturday for their alleged involvement in the recruitment of fake teachers in Samastipur. The arrests were the result of an investigation conducted by a four-member committee established by Samastipur DM Yogendra Singh. Those arrested include headmasters Dilip Ram from Purushottampur Primary School and Avinash Kumar Tandon from Navtolia Primary School, as well as middleman Parvez Alam. They were apprehended in the Town police station area. An informant from the police department mentioned that a significant scam had taken place at Navtolia Primary School. Following the discovery of the fake recruitment, numerous teachers are under investigation, with 12 reportedly missing. Police disclosed that the fake teachers were appointed instead of genuine candidates selected through BPSC, due to manipulation during counseling sessions. The DM stated, "We received complaints regarding fraudulent appointments in the BPSC TRE-2.0. After verifying the documents of successful BPSC exam candidates and collecting their biometric thumbprints, it was discovered that education department staff unlawfully employed false teachers using the roll numbers and candidate IDs of selected BPSC candidates who did not take up the positions." On September 7, a four-member committee was formed to probe the matter. Based on the committee's findings, the headmasters and middleman were arrested. An individual named Ranjana Kumari at Purushottam Primary School was identified as a fake teacher, with investigations ongoing into teachers Nikhat Parveen and Tanuja Kumari at the same school. An official from the Town police station stated, "The fraudulent appointments were initially detected at this school."
